News Item: Two convicted for making pet dog obese

Consumer advocate Mike Adams says more cases like this should be brought against the parents of children, not just pets. “Isn’t it interesting that the courts are ruling it’s illegal to make your dog obese, but it’s perfectly okay to make your children obese by feeding them junk foods and sugary drinks?”

Are we as a society really coming to this?

Personally I think it’s the job of pediatricians to evaluate weights and diets of children. How about pushing THEM to do some education???

If you child is “too thin” they’re all over you….but the overweight and even morbidly obese ones? nothing!

Right give people the stupid food pyramid & then when it all goes pear-shaped blame them.Prosecuting people for poor life choices is the newest way to give jobs to the lawyers they keep churning out of law school. Litigation & stupid knee-jerk reaction laws are just ways for polititians to be seen to be doing something!! Give people proper education on what is nutritious, not what sells best & keeps doctors in money treating sick people. No it is probably easier to penalise people & make them look like they aren’t doing the right thing, rather than appear to have no answers but the wrong ones themselves, or admit they got it wrong.
I wish all polititians would get a real job & stop pretending that they actually care about anything other than their own five minutes of fame & power. Most people are doing the best they can with the information they are being told & they are too frightened to take their health into their own hands as some of us have done, so how is it their fault if they, their kids & pets get fat??
